Sea Hut in Monroe

Best sea food n chicken wings I've ever had!! I've travel way too much but this is the best! Wish they were in Florida... Update! April 2016- still the best place ever!!!! And they are so stinking sweet! Brought our 4 month old just to meet the owners and of course to eat. Yum!!!

Now everybody that lives in this town all to go by here and try the fish it is deliciousI love it

Been procrastinating about going to this place. Finally went today for lunch and I am glad that I did!Had 20 large shrimp with a couple of sides. It was fantastic. I will become a regular. Thanks Anthony and Rosie.

I tried gator tails and I must say they are very tasty!! The owner welcomed me with open arms ! I’ll definitely be back! (Probably tonight)

This place has real seafood cooked to order. The owners are friendly and very accommodating. They have the best salmon burgers anywhere.

Waitress was very helpful and friendly. Food was AWESOMELY DELICIOUS. Totally recommend calabash fried shrimp +baked beansAnd Basa fish sandwich !

Over priced, very small portion, & the pieces of fish are really small. Go anywhere else besides here.

I have passed this little place a thousand times. I am so happy I finally decided to stop!! The gentleman who took my order was extremely nice and helpful. The lady who checked me out was amazing. I felt like I was visiting their home, and wanted to stay and hang out. Now, the FOOD!! The gentleman recommended basa fish. And he was right! The shrimp were great, oysters were perfect. Homemade tartar sauce that I could have eaten with a spoon alone. Even down to the sweet tea, (which is brewed, not a mix) was so good!! This place is so unassuming from the outside, but please do stop in! You will NOT regret it!!

Food is always good...Owner is so pleasant to fellowship with and they have vegetarian baked beans which is a plus for us.

The 5 stars are given... Because they sell frog legs and gator tail (how many places can you find that sell them)... Also lightly battered huge shrimp and oysters... And let me not forget, the scallops and a variety of fish...

Best Lunch! You need to drive to the coast to find a better po boy. This was the cheapest vacation I've ever had!

I don't know how this place has so many good reviews. Reviewers here must have never left Monroe. By far, the worst fish I have ever eaten in my life. Sorry, it's the truth. Ate 3 bites and tossed the rest out. Tasted like rotten fish. STRONG fishy taste (that dead fish smell), with the skin still on. 3 days later and I can still taste it in my mouth.

I just ate lunch there. The spicy scallops were very good. The Sea Hut has friendly, helpful people and a good selection. The restaurant is small, but orderly and very clean.

This place is phenomenal the food was terrific. The customer service was astounding. This is worth the drive from Charlotte. It is a Nubian owned business. Anthony Irby the owner is a delight. He is a die hard New York Jets Fan.

I don’t recommend this place at all. The lady charged me $20 for 3 pieces of fish and shrimp that wouldn’t fill anyone up. Then said I couldn’t get my money back !

Food was SPECTACULAR, a great find after doing a search for food in the area. Would most definitely come again! Hushpuppies, shrimp and fish A+ and fried cheesecake wow 😍

This family owned fish restaurant offers an amazing selection of seafood prepared with love and attention to quality. Chef Anthony and his wife don't have the largest or fanciest restaurant in town, but I would argue that their fish is better than any other. They offer a good variety of southern sides including a spicy coleslaw that is absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend that you give this place a try, especially on 10-piece Tuesday, when you can get 10 pieces of deliciously cooked whiting!

This place has excellent seafood that always tastes fresh and is cooked perfectly. The customer service is also top notch. That's difficult to find today. They know their trade and love what they do... That makes a huge difference. I recommend you ask the questions you have because the answers you receive are gladly answered, not begrudgingly like I've experienced in other, larger restaurants. It's so much more roomy inside than it looks outside. Don't judge this book by its cover... Just go in. Pricing is about what you'd expect for fresh seafood. The meal I get has plenty to eat and I am one that likes to eat. Thanks for an awesome option for eating out Anthony and Rosy! You've earned my business.

First timer- love it. Tried the Basa fish. Very very clean tasting. Calabash shrimp also(best I've had ). I'll be back-over and over. !!

We have been passing this pace for years, and today we finally decided to try them. It's small but clean. The menu is straightforward, prices are good. The food is very good. We had flounder, shrimp, fried zucchini, baked beans, baked potato, and french fries at our table and everything was good.The lady who took our order and served us was friendly and efficient. We'll be back.

It's hard to tell which is better.. The food!! Or the BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE that own the restaurant!! From the time you walk in your being nourished.. Anthony & Rosey fill you with welcome & genuine love.. When you sit at the tables you can be filled with scriptures & kind words to live by.. I have heard nothing but good reviews both online and from family/friends so I was excited to try it. My son and I stopped in one night to give it a try. We were so disappointed in the food and the price was outrageous. We ordered a catfish fillet plate and a combo seafood plate we planned to share. I asked about the portions on the seafood combo before I ordered it and was told we would have the same serving of each selection on the combo as would be if we ordered each item individually. It made sense that it would be a large plate because the price was double what a one item plate cost. However when the plate came it had 4 oysters, 4 shrimp and 4 Scollops..Our meal was $40 plus which was very overpriced. Needless to say we have never returned and have no plans to. The food was good but no better that anywhere else in town. Sadly disappointed.

First time and really enjoyed the food.Jay was a great waitress.We will be back!

Fried basa and hush puppies!

I can't believe that this place has been here for over ten years and I have never tried it!!! My husband and I stopped by tonight to give it a try. We were warmly greeted as if we were old friends!! Spoke about what kind of seafood we liked and tried a sample. This place was amazing!!! Best seafood I have had in a long time!!! If you are like me and haven't tried this place....you MUST go give it a try!!!! You will not be disappointed!! I give it six stars out of five!!!!

The Sea Hut is a quaint, locally-owned, wonderful place to enjoy some seafood. Food is delicious. Prices are reasonable. Love going here often.

I had an oyster Po Boy and fried okra. Both were delicious. They treated me like I was a long time customer instead of it being my first time. Again, really good food.

Very friendly staff, a little pricey but great food. Came out fast too. Their fried oysters are my new favorite!

Awesome little sea food restaurant! There are about 6 tables in this restaurant because it seems that the bulk of their business is take out. They have so many seafood items to choose from. It's family owned and the owner was really nice. His daughter waited on me and my parents. She was very sweet. My dad got a fish sandwich that he finished very quickly. My mom got fried whiting which was delicious! And I ended up getting a cheeseburger. It was good. I wish the bun had been toasted but it was still good. I'd order seafood next time. Nice portions and reasonable pricing. Their hushpuppies are wonderful (and look like onion rings so if you see onion rings on your plate you know now they are really hushpuppies) Go here when you are wanting a fish dinner! Support a local business, a kind family and get some great food

Amazingly delicious. If I come back to Monroe I would definitely want to go back here. Shrimp po boy was huge, couldn't even finish it. Customer service could have been better there was a young lady bringing the food out she seemed like a novice. Brought us out lemonade pitcher without cups. She also didn't bring the condiments to the table, didn't give napkins, had to keep asking for things that should have been available to us at the table. ("We were a party of 8").
